2 Months!

63 Days on Earth!!

Friday marked Sofia's two month birthday. She has continued to marvel & amaze us with her baby skills. She loves to lay on our bed with me and talk up a storm - I let her think I understand every goo, coo, la, & ga. She also learned to roll over to her stomach where she then does her impression of a turtle stuck in the sand until you put her on her back again. I also found out that she hates water and I mean really really REALLY hates water. I've been giving her a sponge bath and decided that this would be a good week to try to add just a eeny weeny bit of water into her bathtub. As soon as her big toe slightly dipped into the water she seriously lost it. I guess we can cross olympic swimmer & pro-wakeboarder off her future endeavors. Hopefully, I'll find a way to get her to enjoy an actual bath before she starts to smell a little funky :(.

8 Weeks Old Here We Go...

Sofia's newest hobby is dancing with her daddy. Her favorite music is bad rap, reggae, euro dance music, oldies, & salsa. Her taste seems to be quite diverse & a bit puzzling as to whom her musical influence really is. She likes to watch you move your arms to the music & then she does her best to imitate you. For a white baby she sure has some rythmn. Since I've never actually witnessed Scott dance it's hard to say who she gets this talent from....

Sofia's First Mass

That's right you heard it correctly we went to mass ....yes in an actual REAL church...this weekend. It was jam packed with kids which made me relax a bit until it came time to recite the usual prayers and I realized I remember nothing. Is lip-syncing in church a sin? Sofia loved the singing and there was a lot of it which basically lulled her to sleep. I must remind her to pay attention in Catechism instead of passing notes to cute boys like her mom.

Lucky Number Seven

Here we are at the seven week mark which means those dreaded immunizations are right around the corner. I imagine this is what your face would look like if you knew what shots were. Guess I can't buy you off with the promise of an ice cream sundae with extra sprinkles...but once you are old enough I swear there is a big ole sundae with your name all over it. This is where I insert " it's for your own good" and hope you buy it.

Sofia's First Birthday Present..

In celebration of her first month of life, I bought her a Baby Einstein "Fish Tank" for her crib. This contraption rocks! Seriously, for those of you with babies, babies on the way, or even considering conceiving sometime within the decade you really must invest. It plays classical music as the fish swim by. She can't get enough of it & it happily lulls her to sleep. It plays for 25 minutes gradually slowing down until it stops.

Sofia's New Play Gym

Yah-Yah bought Sofia her first big toy - a Fisher-Price play gym. She is fascinated and amused by all the toys and colors, but mostly she loves staring at herself in the mirror and making silly faces. A few moments of bliss for her means a few moments of bliss for mama. Thank you Yah-Yah you are so very good to us. xo's

My New Friend, Chloe Cottontail

Now that she has discovered how to grab at things and pull them towards her she is all about her little bunny stuffed animal. This may look large next to her but trust me it's very small. The next lesson will be to not eat little Chloe Cottontail. Her latest trick of choice is slowly sticking her tongue our at you - if you do it back to her it will incite smiles of approval.

The Fifth Week

Sofia, You're beginning your fifth week with us & you just get more and more amazing. You are sleeping like a champ - last night you slept from 1am until 5:30am your longest stretch yet. You went to your first Superbowl party yesterday and met Ali (your daddies good friend from high school) and her boyfriend Jon). You loved exploring a new place and some new faces. You are such an easy going baby which is fantastic because that means we can take you everywhere without concern. As long as we have enough bottles since your only gripe is when you are hungry ... just like your mama you experience some pretty wicked food fits. Thank you for teaching us how to be patient as we figure this whole parenting gig out. xo's
