Sofia Learns Peek-a-Boo

One of the activities we did at Gymboree this week was Peek A Boo with a blankie. She's such a smart little baby! xo

Sofia's New Toy

We bought Sofia her own chair so she can feel like a big girl and sit up all on her own. It looks like all those sit ups we've been doing are really paying off. She can only tolerate the toy for a limited period of time until she rips it off the tray and tosses it aside.

Week 17 & it's All About Those Bunnies!!

HaPPy 17th WeEk SoFiA!! This is an extra special week because it also happened to be your very first Easter. Why you may not be old enough for an Easter egg hunt or to participate in a scavenger hunt for your Easter Basket - you did enjoy it nonetheless because of one very important factor - BUNNIES! You got two new ones to add to your growing collection and I must say you have a "thing" for these stuffed creatures. (If we will now turn our attention to Exhibits A & B above) You looked so sweet in your Easter dress. Yah-Yah joined us for Easter services & then a super yummy brunch at Duo. I guess that wasn't all that special since you had your usual - warm formula in a bottle. But I do think you enjoy it just a little more when you are being served in a pretty restaurant. Oh and another little bit of excitement - your hair is starting to come in now after losing some of that first bit of newborn fuzz. It looks like you will have dark hair like your mama & blue eyes like your papa. At least for now....

This is Sofia telling everyone just how excited she is for her first Easter. Actually we turned the camera around so she could see herself as we recorded her so it's really just her telling herself how excited she is for her very first Easter.

16 Weeks & A Shout Out to the Missing 15th Week (oops!)

So sorry, Sofia, Momma missed the milestones of week 15th so I will recap as we celebrate the beginning of your 16th week in the universe. You are trying so very hard to sit up by yourself which to me seems like a lot of work for a little human. You still remain fascinated with ceiling fans, your bunny rabbit, & all the colorful burp cloths. As I write this you are in your swing chatting & laughing up a storm exactly how you awake each morning in your crib. You are also working on your baby vocabulary which is full of lots of new sounds and you are able to mimic "hi" when you are really concentrating. You have the most amazing facial expressions and your little eyebrows tell a lot about your mood. I read to you everyday and you love looking at the pictures and trying to turn the pages to see whats next. That's exactly how I feel about each day with you - I just can't wait to see what's coming up next. xo's
